Catchphrase

STV Studios brought Catchphrase - one of the most popular British game show formats of all time - back to screens in 2013, following an 11-year break. The lively show sees contestants trying to guess well-known phrases or sayings from animated picture puzzles, often featuring the show's much-loved mascot, Mr Chips.

The first episode of the revamped series, hosted by Saturday night staple Stephen Mulhern, was watched by more than 5 million viewers on ITV, and six regular series of the show have since been produced. Following several popular celebrity specials, a standalone spin-off series, Celebrity Catchphrase, was commissioned in 2018 and continues to be a ratings success for ITV.
